Abundance

Matthew 7: 7-8
    ⁷ “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Luke 11: 9-10
⁹ “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

It is no coincidence to me that this is mentioned twice in the gospels of the New Testament.  I believe when we ask, seek and knock, we receive in ABUNDANCE.  This was extraordinarily clear to me a few weeks ago. 

My dear friends moved to Colorado, and before they left I helped them pack.  I gathered boxes at work and took a load to their house.  Then a few days later I kept finding ALL kinds of boxes all over the office. I asked around to several of the admin, and later I remembered where there were more boxes in a storage room that would end up being thrown away.  I know it is a "small" abundance, but when you are packing to move to a different state in two weeks, boxes are precious and money is tight.  God always provides, but you need to ask, seek and knock!

ABUNDANCE! 

Blessed be Your Name

The Song Blessed be Your Name now hits me on many different levels.  We sang it at two very touching Memorial services last year.  Now I am fine until I get to the part that goes, "You give and take away, My heart will choose to say, 'Lord blessed be your name.'"  This reminds me that even in the depths of despair, feeling blessed is a choice. 

How do you choose to feel blessed?

Mustard Seed Faith

Matthew 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Some days I only have mustard seed faith, but there were days that even Jesus' diciples needed to be reminded to simply have a little faith.  That gives me great comfort. 

In Memory

Today marks the one year anniversary of a very difficult day for many people in my life.  Phil and his daughter Raychel were killed in a car accident.  I will take several moments today in remembrance.  Please keep his wife Debby, and Raychel's son, Zachary in your prayers today.  He was an elder at our church, and many of us still feel the hole.  Debby is doing amazingly well, and takes it one day at a time.  I KNOW God is still working in this situation.  So far I see several things that have come out of this:

1.  A sweet boy was born that same day. 
2.  Relationships have been strengthened in attempts to fill in gaps.
3.  God was glorified.
4.  Satan Did NOT get a foothold in this situation.
5.  Faith was shaken and strengthened.

Ten on Ten - Flowers

My day today was not particularly interesting as I was at a scrapbooking retreat all weekend.  One of the things I love to do is take pictures of flowers, so here is a smattering of those.
