I worship God Because....

Recently at church they asked us to submit photos answering the phrase, "I worship God because..."
I am going to group my answers into themes, and will share over the next few days.

I worship God because of his majesty.

Ten on Ten - May, A Work Day

A lovely plant I received for Administrative Professionals Day from a co-worker.

Tupperware glass from High School marching band days. It makes me smile, and it is still in great condition.

I sprained my ankle while on vacation the week before, ice, elevation, Advil and rest.

The announcement of the DFW Terminal A RFP winners was made 5-5-11, so a co-worker made this logo slide to help us remember who the winners are.  Branding is a beautiful thing.

Present work and Future work.

Our AC was out on our half of the build for most of the week and I finally decided to make what I termed "ghetto air conditioning." Basically a bowl of ice in front of the fan.  It worked too!  The ice lasted about an hour, but when it was all said and done I was nice and cool and almost needed a sweater.  The AC was fixed that afternoon. 

My mom watched the kiddos while we were on vacation and she forgot her very nice pillow at our house.  She asked me to mail it on Monday, and I forgot.  So I had it in the car Tuesday after work and almost didn't mail it because it was raining.  But I decided to go ahead and mail it, and I am sure glad that I did.  The ladies at the post office told me not to use the flat rate box becuase pillow are so light.  So I mailed it in a regular Prioity Mail box and saved $5!

I had to take a picture of the Big Boy in the neat lighting after the rain.  It took several pictures to get to the last one.  :) 

My sweet girl moves around so much it is difficult to get a non-blurry picture of her lately.

GOD WORKS!

Words I *try* to live by:

Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

So many parts to that:

ALL THINGS
GOD WORKS
FOR GOOD
LOVE HIM
CALLED
ACCORDING
HIS PURPOSE

This scripture has carried me through and helped me to walk beside others. 

How is God working in your life?

Abundance

Matthew 7: 7-8
    ⁷ “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Luke 11: 9-10
⁹ “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

It is no coincidence to me that this is mentioned twice in the gospels of the New Testament.  I believe when we ask, seek and knock, we receive in ABUNDANCE.  This was extraordinarily clear to me a few weeks ago. 

My dear friends moved to Colorado, and before they left I helped them pack.  I gathered boxes at work and took a load to their house.  Then a few days later I kept finding ALL kinds of boxes all over the office. I asked around to several of the admin, and later I remembered where there were more boxes in a storage room that would end up being thrown away.  I know it is a "small" abundance, but when you are packing to move to a different state in two weeks, boxes are precious and money is tight.  God always provides, but you need to ask, seek and knock!

ABUNDANCE! 

Blessed be Your Name

The Song Blessed be Your Name now hits me on many different levels.  We sang it at two very touching Memorial services last year.  Now I am fine until I get to the part that goes, "You give and take away, My heart will choose to say, 'Lord blessed be your name.'"  This reminds me that even in the depths of despair, feeling blessed is a choice. 

How do you choose to feel blessed?

Mustard Seed Faith

Matthew 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Some days I only have mustard seed faith, but there were days that even Jesus' diciples needed to be reminded to simply have a little faith.  That gives me great comfort.
